Application Will Give Physicians Instant Access to Lab Results, Hospital and Radiology Reports Anywhere, Anytime Boston, Ma. – May 17, 2005 – MedAptus today announced it has bolstered its point-of-care solution suite with the addition of ChartConnect ResultManager. The ResultManager application—branded as MedAptus Clinical Results—was developed by ChartConnect to provide physicians and their staff with instant access to clinical data on their handheld computer or PDA, at any time of day, from virtually any location. The Clinical Results module integrates with existing MedAptus applications that allow physicians to use a handheld computer to easily manage their daily schedules, review and retrieve patient demographics, dictate notes, and access medical reference material. Now, users can also use the same system to review lab, radiology, hospital and clinical results and reports and act on those results. Clinical Results allows physicians to easily view clinical data whenever and wherever they need to. With a built-in messaging system, physicians can also securely forward results and instructions to staff members. "As a practicing physician, I am well aware of the challenges facing busy providers. Information overload is a growing problem, yet most caregivers have no choice but to sift through multiple systems and paper reports in order to provide optimal care," noted David Delaney, MD, vice president of business development at MedAptus. "Our Clinical Results module addresses the information overload problem by providing easy access to clinical data in a meaningful format. This allows physicians to spend less time seeking information and more time treating patients." Unlike other clinical result applications, Clinical Results offers a comprehensive way for physicians to manage both current and historical data from disparate sources efficiently, providing a holistic view of the patient. The application provides access to the complete clinical results history, as opposed to summary data or information from a limited period of time, and can consolidate results from multiple sources—even trending lab scores from different laboratories. "I am particularly enthusiastic about this offering because of its ability to positively affect physicians and the care they deliver, while simultaneously leveraging and extending a clinic or hospital's current technology investments," stated Dennis Mitchell, president and CEO of MedAptus. He added, "This is an incredibly exciting time for MedAptus. By adding complementary clinical solutions to an existing product base, we are helping to power customer EMR strategies in a variety of ways." About MedAptus About ChartConnect.com |
