KENNEWICK, Wash. – October 1, 2003 - ChartConnect, a Web-based medical software developer that provides a comprehensive electronic medical record (EMR) for physician practices and hospitals nationwide, announced today that Tri-Cities Laboratory (TCL) of Kennewick, Washington has signed an agreement to sponsor ChartConnect ResultManager for their physician clients and staff. The Web-based application will allow physicians and laboratory staff to easily order, view and route lab results online, and route lab results automatically into a patient's electronic medical chart. The online application is expected to significantly improve efficiency and decrease costs for both Tri-Cities Laboratory and local physician offices by cutting down on the amount of time typically needed to process routine laboratory tasks. Tri-Cities Laboratory is owned by three area hospitals and a regional reference laboratory, providing both hospital and outpatient testing for all community physicians. Tri-Cities Laboratory operates patient service centers throughout the community, a central core lab, and a cancer center. It conducts testing in three hospital laboratories. Test results are available for inpatients, outpatients, and physician office patients through ChartConnect regardless of where the patient is seen. "ChartConnect has been very successful in getting offices to actually use the technology," says Paul Christensen, general manager of Tri-Cities Laboratory. Physicians and other healthcare professionals use electronic medical record applications to develop, organize, and maintain patient medical charts. With ChartConnect's Web-based medical record, patient information is stored securely but can be easily accessed through a permission sharing system by all of those involved in a patient's care. ChartConnect's online patient management tools help physicians, nurses, and office professionals streamline workflow—saving time and money, and improving patient care. About ChartConnect.com |
